I have discovered that I really like making these things, but I'm not sure what to call them. They are Posterized (a filter), but not really. They have a similar effect as Posterization, but I rarely use the actual filter. They could be called stencil art, or maybe screen print art; if you ignore the coloured images I have filled them with and treat them as simple two-colour images, each of them could easily be screen printed. Regarding the images they are filled with, I have tried to match the image with the subject, making some commentary on them. So Bernie has been filled with a photo of a worn steel, non-skid floor - a common sturdy, dependable, well-used surface. Mitch has been filled with a lurid fire-like image that is actually a very spectacular sunrise (the opposite of my intent), but stands in for his hellish machinations. And Joe's face has been filled with very weathered wood grain, from the side of a barn in southern France - draw your own conclusions.
I'm definitely going to more of them, whatever I decide to call them. On the list are Nancy Pulosi, Mike Pence, Marco Rubio, Hillary Clinton, Tucker Carlson, Trudeau (both of them). I may even stray away from politics and do a Brad Pitt or a Scarlett Johansson - for the clicks!
I will be adding some of these to Wikimedia Commons, making them available for use for free. I haven't tried that yet (I only just created an account there), so we'll see if it works. They curate quite thoroughly, I think, and I'm not 100% on whether or not these will be accepted. We shall see.
