This is a medium-weight polyester tee with a soft finish. The printing process really penetrates the fibers, with no skin of ink riding on the surface, with vivid colours and high fidelity to the original image. Rowan has been wearing a few of these for about three years, and they still look good enough to send him to school in, even after completely disregarding the washing instructions right from the beginning. I don't recommend that though, as abuse in the washer and dryer will result in some pilling of the surface. Wash it inside-out with other soft stuff in cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry to maximize the life of the shirt.
